BELIEVERS REASONING

I was asked if debate or reasoning is allowed when doing evangelism. Yes. It’s  called Christian Apologetics meaning the intellectual defense of the truth of the Christian religion, usually considered a branch of theology. It is where we talk of Jesus Christ’ suffering, death and resurrection. The Gospel of Salvation. Let’s learn Apologetics application from Acts 18:4-11. Verse 4: And Paul was reasoning in the synagogue every Sabbath and trying to persuade Jews and Greeks.  ***Apostle Paul did Apologetics, he reasoned in the Synagogue and also showed the need to study and be approved of God in presenting Christ. Paul devoted himself to the Word,  Verse 5:  But when Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia, Paul began devoting himself completely to the Word, testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ.  *** Paul studied the Scriptures and presented the Word to the unbelievers.    Verse 6: But when they resisted and blasphemed, he shook out his garments and said to them, “Your blood is on your own heads! I am clean. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.” *** In preaching, expect resistance, opposition and lots of difficulties. Never be surprised.   Verse 7: Then he left the synagogue and went to the house of a man named Titius Justus, a worshiper of God, whose house was next door to the synagogue.  *** Apostle Paul showed believers who to associate with.   Verse 8: Crispus, the leader of the synagogue, believed in the Lord together with his entire household; and many of the Corinthians, as they listened to Paul, were believing and being baptized. *** The Word of God will never go void, it will produce believers.  Verse 9: And the Lord said to Paul by a vision at night, “Do not be afraid any longer, but go on speaking and do not be silent; V10  for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many people in this city.”  *** Believers have the support of God when reasoning about the Gospel to others. It is Grace. We cannot be silent, do it with no fear. It’s an opportunity given to believers. Pray always.   Verse 11: And he settled there for a year and six months, teaching the Word of God among them. Today God showed us the importance to be prepared to reason in reaching the Word. FCC is equipped to do it,  the Faithfulness of Christ is within us. No shame. Do serve Christ, receive His Grace, help the weak. In Christ
