GOD SPOKE

Bible came to us because God spoke. The bible says, “Long ago God

spoke to our ancestors by the prophets at different times and in different ways. In these last days, He has spoken to us by His Son. God has appointed Him heir of all things and made the universe through Him”. (Heb 1:1) The purpose is to teach us. “For whatsoever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope”. (Rom 15:4).

Our Lord Jesus wants it searched. “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of Me”. (John 5:39) The words of Scripture are God’s word. There is ultimately no higher authority showing proof than the Scripture itself. For what authority could be higher than God? The Holy Spirit makes readers realize the Bible is unlike any book they have ever read. Through reading, they believe that the words of Scripture are the very words of

God Himself. It is as Jesus said in John 10: 27: “My sheep hear my voice … and they follow me”. Many struggle with “why God allows us to suffer and ignorantly conclude He no longer cares”. Please note, many great lessons we learn in life came as a result of hardship. Clinging to God during these trials gives us insights of how God works in our life. He doesn’t want His children hurt. The Bible says, “For if He causes grief, then He will have compassion according to His abundant

lovingkindness. For He does not afflict willingly or grieve the sons of men.” (Lam 3: 32– 33.) God wants to teach us lessons that sometimes can only be learned through sorrow. Our Lord Jesus is a good example, “Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered.” (Heb 5: 8). So whenever trouble strikes, be still and ask the Lord to show you what you can learn from the situation. We can draw boldly near Him and learn His ways. (Heb 4:16) His sufficient Grace moves us. His Spirit is within. Let’s call on Him. He will answer.

His word declares, “He will teach you great and mighty things that you need to know”. (Jer 33:3) We have a God who listens and gives Grace. Hope in Him and Trust Him. In Jesus Name. Amen
