GOT OR GET

The Scripture says, “Not abandoning our own meeting together, as is the habit of some people, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.” (Heb10:25)  As Believers we must change our mindset on how we do our responsibilities for the Lord.  We must view it as astonishing opportunity as it is and not some sort of hard work.  It should be a joyful activity that we can’t wait to do instead of the worst part of our week.  How can this be done? See this as a life changing way. Often when we wake up late on Sunday morning and are tired, we think that we have “got” to go to church.  That is completely the wrong perspective.  It is not that we have “got” to go to church, but that we “get” to go to church. What a privilege to gather with fellow believers and worship our great God and Savior.  But just changing a vowel, it goes from being a task to being an opportunity. There are believers in China, Indonesia, Middle East who literally are persecuted to go to church.  They thoroughly worship the Lord, and then face consequences of an offender.  Many consider it “suffering” when they have to drive to church in the rain. We must develop the mindset that we “Get” to go to church. In prayers why not be zealous? We may realize, at eleven o’clock at night, that we haven’t had a quiet time of prayer that day.  It is not that we have “got” to pray but we “Get” to pray to the Almighty God of this universe. Isn’t it amazing that the God who is in total control of this universe takes time out of His day to hear us pray to Him?  He can’t wait to talk with and listen to our heart.  It is not a chore, but an incredible opportunity.  We should desire to communicate with our heavenly Father that we “pray without ceasing” (1Thes 5:17). Sometimes we realize vey late at night that we haven’t read our Bible ye that day.  We have the mindset that we have “got” to read the Bible, but we must not view it as a burden.  It’s not that we have “got” to read our Bible, but we “Get” to read the Holy Word of God.  We have to nourish our spirit. Jesus said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceed out of the mouth of God” (Mat 4:4) It is amazing that the God who is in total control of this universe will take time out of His day to hear us pray to Him? Give us Grace to do it. Serving God is an opportunity not something dissent from. Serve Him.  Be blessed
