HOLY SPIRIT WAYS IN US
Why is it that Believers often start strong in their Christian walk, and then later discover that they are facing failure in their faith? One of the primary reasons is that they drift away from the very principles that were learned at the beginning of their relationship with Christ. The Bible warned us of this focus. “Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it.” Hebrews 2:1 Another key reason is they become so familiar with the Word of God and the messages they hear preached, that they no longer take the truth of God’s Word to heart as diligently and as eagerly as they once did. Yet again the Bible teaches us “How shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by those who heard Him.” Hebrews 2:3 Yet a third reason—and perhaps the most prevalent—is that they stop relying on the Holy Spirit to lead them, to guide them, to give them the spiritual power needed to withstand temptation, and to give them the spiritual wisdom they need to recognize and to avoid error. The Bible says. “For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.” For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Rom 8:5-6 We never spiritually outgrow our dependence upon the Holy Spirit. The exact opposite is true. The more mature we are in our faith and the more intimate our relationship with our heavenly Father, the more dependent we must be on the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit who guides us into the right path for us to walk and convicts us of our sin if we stray from that path. It is the Holy Spirit who reminds us of the truth of God’s Word and teaches us how to apply God’s Word into our daily lives. It is the Holy Spirit who works in us to conform us to the image of Christ Jesus, and who works through us to minister the presence and power of Christ to others. The ongoing lesson all Christians must learn is living daily in the power of the Holy Spirit! No matter where you are in your journey with the Lord, this is the key to be a successful Christian. This is a Believer’s life in Faith and Grace. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2024.
Be Blessed
