NO TO HURRYING
“It is not good for a person to be without knowledge and he who hurries his footsteps errs.” PROV 19:2 Are there decisions and choices you must make today? Is there stress involved and the pressure to rush? In the Scriptures God never tell anyone to hurry into a decision. God doesn’t operate that way. There may be times when you need to hear from Him quickly, or when He demands immediate obedience, generally those are after months of preparation where He is already guiding you to the right answer. He will counsel you to rush into a decision blindly. Of course, the enemy will usually tempt you to act immediately, because that’s how he traps you. He knows that if you think about a situation long enough you’ll see that certain choices are not God’s will for you at all. This is why the Bible admonishes you repeatedly to wait for the Lord. “Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.” Psalm 27: Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prosper in his way, because of the man who bring wicked devices to pass. Psalm 14; 37:7; “My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.” Psalm 62:5. You know the difference between the call of God that is supernaturally saturated with His peace and situations that are cloaked in confusion. If you feel an overwhelming, frenzied urge to rush and act spontaneously pull in the reins. Let God guide you and show you the right way to proceed. God desires us to worship Him, because He is a God of truth, and He is worthy of all praise and worship. And He wants us to serve Him, because it’s the way we can enjoy participating in His plan in the world. “I will be their God and they will be my people.” (Jer 31:33). He wanted us to be His children, to experience a deep love that cannot come from any other source. His Grace can make it happen in Christ. That is the way we should live, because God’s grace has come. That grace can save everyone. It teaches us not to live against God and not to do the bad things the world wants to do. It teaches us to live on earth now in a wise and right way—a way that shows true devotion to God. We should live like that while we are waiting for the coming of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ us pure—people who belong only to him and who always want to do good. Be Blessed
In Christ,
