ONLY GOD IS WISE

     Man’s own wisdom has always been the badge of his superiority and the cause of his most arrogant pride; yet it fails him constantly. The Truth of the Bible says, “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” Proverbs 16:18 A great leader of the ancient world learned about God’s sovereignty and. Providence. Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon became prideful in heart and God taught him a lesson.  He took away his sanity for seven years. How was he restored? He was restored when he acknowledged God’s supremacy.  He said in his contrition, “No one can hold back His hand or say to Him: What have you done?” (Daniel 4:34-35)  People cannot by his own wisdom find the answer to the old question concerning himself: When? When Moses linger in the mount Israel became bored with the faith that sees the invisible and clamored for a god they could see and touch. What? “Just what is wrong is not easy to determine”

Why? “The man who do not know why he was born is worse lost.” How?  “How may we remain free from self-deception?”  These shows man’s ignorance and limitation cannot secure the wishes he wants most:  To escape pain, to stay young and to stay alive,  Yet man boasts of his wisdom. Only the truth of God can set us free.

    The Word of God says, “Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord who practice steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the Lord.” Jeremiah 9:23-24  God waits for the ages past, time and space, matter and motion, life and death, to tell us that only God is wise. Be blessed by the love, truth and grace He gives abundantly. Live it.
