PROPITIATION

A great number of people whom we try to lead to Christ really want to be saved and seem to know how, but they are confronted with difficulties and conclude they are hopeless.  Common conversations such as, 1) “I’m too great a sinner.” The only way to help them is by using Word of God. It says, ”God is faithful in saying and worthy of acceptance by all, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.”  He did it on the Cross with His shed blood.  2) These are “People who entertain false hopes.”  They are those who believe in eternal life but not actually trusting Jesus. Those thoughts are not true. Reveal to them Jesus is the Way.  3) “Those who think they can be saved by their precious lives”.  Talks you hear from them, “I have never done anything very bad.” “I follow the 10 Commandments.”  “I give to the needy.” “I’m a good person.”  Believers help them with these from God , “Whosoever shall have kept the whole law, and then offends in one point is made guilty of all”  (James 2:10)   Man cannot do anything on his own to go to Heaven.  All men by nature are sinners. They missed the mark resulting to separation with God,  What is the way out?  Lord Jesus Christ is the way out, He reconciles a sinner with the Father.  This happens when the Spirit leads, “Confess Him with your lips, believe His resurrection and you will be saved.” (Rom 10:9)  Before the nails and the spear, Jesus was whipped and beaten. The whipping was so severe that it tore the flesh from His body. The beating so horrific that His face was torn and his beard ripped from His face. The crown of thorns (two to three inch thorns) cut deeply into His scalp. The precious blood shed by our Lord Jesus is enormous. For what purpose?  His help, “For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” 2Cor 5:21.  This season of Lent or Resurrection 2023, try to seek God yourselves through the Scriptures. Open it and see how Jesus suffered for you.  Try these: Matthew 27:46 “My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?”; John 19:28 “I thirst.”; John 19:30 “It is finished.”; Luke 23:46 “Father, into Thy hands I commend My spirit.”.  I pray you do.

Be blessed.  Pastor Edpaul
