YOU ARE CALLED TO PREACH

The Lord Jesus gave three crucial instructions to the seventy He assigned to evangelize.  They were to search, to gain acceptance and stay where they found hospitality.  Their first goal was to discover open channels for the gospel, second discover worthy men, and third worthy homes. The sensitivity to the readiness and receptivity of both individual and his social networks is often ignored by contemporary approaches to evangelism. A pattern or formula is adopted and followed but the spirit God give to preachers are often ignored. Gospel is not just an ordinary item for sale but Holy Message from God as the Holy Spirit dictates. In the society today, many churches view the community as a collection of isolated strangers, to be confronted with the Gospel when they can be interrupted long enough to listen.  That should not be the case.  The community is not a one-dimensional, nameless, faceless, businesses, houses and people with no life connection. Evangelism is looked upon as a violation of social and cultural customs. It has abandoned all social sensitivities when Christ is mentioned.  Many have concluded that evangelism is done in a negative, socially unacceptable manner. Jesus did not send His seventy disciples with instructions that would make them popular and universally received. He told them they would be persecuted and rejected. The reason for this is that Preachers introduces a new life to another person. Knowing these confrontations, evangelist should not be discouraged and fearful.  Our Lord Jesus said, “If they persecute you they persecuted me first.” Jesus did not send His seventy disciples with instructions that would make them popular and universally received. He told them they will be persecuted and rejected. Our Lord Jesus is calling Believers today to preach always, make disciples of men and live in His amazing Grace. You will receive many questions and rejections but in the end infinite abode with God is received.

God be the Glory. Amen. Be blessed,

Pastor Edpaul
