I. HOW DOES THE HEART RELATE TO OUR CONVERSATION?
OUT OF THE TREASURE
The good man brings out of his good treasure what is good; and the evil man brings out of his evil treasure what is evil. MAT 12:35
^^^ Knowing what you’re called for helps
^^^ What we support or put in our heart, conscience, mind will come out of our system, character and life.
^^^ Whatever setback you have now, focus on the plans of God for you, never make a mistake thinking it’s the future.
LORD SEARCH THE HEART “I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind,
Even to give to each man according to his ways, According to the results of his deeds. JER 17:10
^^^ Important to let God search your heart in your meditation, in prayers and during your readings.
^^^ Most often people neglect their important holy moments with God.
^^^ The Psalmist prayed, “Search me O God and know my heart…” Psalm 139:23-24
GUARD THE HEART Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life. PROV 4:23
^^^ Life should be dependent in Christ. He is the only way.
^^^ There are those who are losing hope due to wrong choices, wrong preferences, denying God. ^^^ Gods ways are right, Guard your heart from doubt.
^^^ Acknowledge His works, be sensitive knowing.
II. WHO WILL GUARD THE HEART?
THE PEACE OF GOD
And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. PHIL 4:7
^^^ Surpass all comprehension means you are above all situation knowing why things happen.
^^^ Anger results to mis-communications, stress, sin.
^^^ Holy Spirit give the believer ability to purify every motives, through dependence of Him.
LOOK AFTER ONE ANOTHER
See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled; HEB 12:15
^^^ In the Church we have unity of the Spirit of Christ.
^^^ Unity is often disrupted by one or two. Personal grudges, gossips, envy resulting to root of bitterness.
^^^ We have to guard one another before these happens.
PURE HEART
Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart, 1PETER 1:22
^^^ Obey the truth of God, read it, do it, get the blessings.
^^^ Many evade the truth of God instead condoning the evil of the society. No fear of God.
^^^ Jer 33:3 Call to me, I will answer you, and tell you great and mighty things.
III. WHAT DOES GOD WANTS US TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT CONVERSATION?
NO CORRUPT TALK
Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear. EPH 4:29
^^^ Today people laugh in the vulgarity of conversation, allowing it often, it’s not helping the soul at all.
^^^ The Bible says, “You shall be holy in all your conversation.”
NO NAUGHTINESS
12 A worthless person, a wicked man Is the one who walks with a perverse mouth, 13 Who winks with his eyes, who signals with his feet, Who points with his fingers; 14 Who with perversity in his heart continually devises evil, Who spreads strife. 15 Therefore his calamity will come suddenly; Instantly he will be broken and there will be no healing. PROV 6:12-15
IV. HOW DO RIGHTEOUS PEOPLE STAND OUT WITH HIS COMMUNICATION?
LIPS OF RIGHTEOUS
The lips of the righteous bring forth what is acceptable, But the mouth of the wicked what is perverted. PROV 10:32
^^^ Renewing of the mind helps. Not conformed to the world. Have peace read His word.
YES OR NO
But let your statement be, ‘Yes, yes’ or ‘No, no’; anything beyond these is of evil. MAT 5:37
^^^ Say “yes” thinking of Jesus guidance.
^^^ Let the Holy Spirit lead
GRACIOUS
Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person. COL 4:6
AS WE END
We can gauge ourselves if we are with the Lord if our conversation is right. Your yes or no identifies your nearness to God. We are called to have righteous conversation. Do it in the name of Christ.
^^^ All these things will not happen without Christ shedding His blood on the Cross for us. You’re forgiven, your free.
