ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURES
HIGHLIGHTS
God owns everything. God is happy to share His ownership and provisions. Although many are afraid to confront the reality of managing His ownership. Let’s learn and show reaction to Gods ways and principles.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father Your goodness cannot be measured. You are the Alpha and Omega, Yahweh Jireh. Provider. Your Grace is sufficient for us and will always give us escape from anxiety and worry. Help us to know the true relationship with You God Our Father. Give us excitement to do Your will and enjoy what You give. Thank You for the learning today, guide us Holy Spirit. Wake our sleeping minds and to accept Your Truth. In Jesus Name. Amen.
WHERE CAN WE SEE THE APPLICATION OF LOVE, SINCERITY AND HONESTY TO OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD?
LET’S REACT TO THESE
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich. 2COR 8:9
WE’RE TOLD TO GIVE
Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2COR 9:7
WHY DO WE HAVE TO GIVE A PORTION OF OUR EARNINGS, OWNERSHIP, TALENTS AND TIME TO GOD?
^^^ Faith to believe all these, not with our divided mind but need to be single to God the Almighty.^^^ Without Faith it is impossible to please God Heb 11:6
OWNER
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth; Yours is the dominion, O Lord, and You exalt Yourself as head over all. 1CHRO 29:11
^^^ Nothing truly belongs to us, everything actually belongs to God.
^^^ When we are blessed with money and material things and when we receive acclaim for any accomplishments were getting not what we deserve but God with His Grace allows us to lovingly to enjoy and care for it.
EVEN THOSE WHO DWELL
The earth is the Lord’s, and all it contains,
The world, and those who dwell in it. PSALM 24:1
^^^ The essence of life is not ownership but stewardship, ^^^ faithful management of all that God entrust to us
EARTH IS HIS
Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine; EXO 19:5
TRUE GOD
The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands; 25 nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things; ACTS 17:24-26
HE SUPPLIES ALL NEEDS
And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. PHIL 4:19
^^^ HE OWNS, HIS TRUE, HE GIVES LIFE, HE SUPPLIES, HE IS NOT DEPENDENT OF ANYBODY
HOW IS GOD GLORIFIED?
ETERNAL, IMMORTAL, INVISIBLE
Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. 1TIM 1:17
^^^ He is the only God, eternal (Alpha and Omega). Immortal, Invisible (Spirit), with honor and glory forever.
HOW DO WE GIVE HIM HONOR AND RESPECT?
BODIES AS LIVING SACRIFICE
Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. Rom 12:1
^^^ Not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near. HEB 10:25
^^^ Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. 2TIM 4:2
HOW DO WE MANAGE GODS PROVISIONS?
^^^ Now we know Gods goodness and mercy. His ownership and His love for us.
^^^ He authored many ways to be with Him. We failed Him but His love prevailed.
^^^ He gives us provisions to manage talents, time, money, ownership etc.
DOING GOOD AND SHARING
And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. HEB 13:16
WHAT ARE THE THREE THINGS WE SHOULD BE AWARE OF IN MANAGING GODS PROVISIONS?
A. MONEY How well we handle money affects our fellowship with God.
B. POSSESSIONS Talents, ownership, time, money competes with the Lord
C. LIFE Much of life revolves around Money.
TRUTH ON OWNERSHIP
For who regards you as superior? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it? 1COR 4:7
^^^ Think about your bank statement, the recent promotion, your marriage, children, grandchildren, your athletic abilities, your spiritual gifts, even your salvation? “What do you have that you did not receive?” (D. Briones)
^^^ We have a source for everything. We own nothing. His Grace is our sufficiency.
GIVING BACK
1. Everything possessed by creatures comes from God. The Lord made heaven and earth and every good and perfect gift is from his hand (Gen. 1-2, Exod. 20:11, Neh. 9:6, Ps. 146:5-6; Ja. 1:17).
2. When we give something back to God, we give him only what he has first given to us. We are God’s stewards and will be held accountable for whether or not we have used what he has given to us for his glory (Luke 12:42; 16:1-8). Since the church belongs to God, pastors will be held accountable for their pastoral care (Not Gain Titus 1:7).
3. When we give something back to God, he is not obligated to recompense us. When we do what we were told to do, we, as unworthy servants, have only done our duty (Luke 17:10). Doctrine of God J. Frame
(The God of the Bible is one who does not need us at all. In theological language, this is the doctrine of divine aseity, literally meaning “from-himself-ness.” God is a-se. He exists independent of the world, as one who is self-sufficient and self-existent.)
^^^ God owns everything, nothing we have we did not receive, we are called to be faithful stewards, God is “se” He doesn’t need anything.
^^^ Jesus said, “Blessed is that slave whom his master finds so doing when he comes.” LUKE 12:43
^^^ “Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created.”
REV 4:11
SUFFICIENCY
And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed 2COR 9:8
AS WE CLOSE
God is the owner, He looks for faithful stewards who are strongly motivated to take care of His provisions. A believer who displays strong sense of purpose and rely on God alone.
Let’s become one of them and be established. All for His Glory. Amen.
