HIGHLIGHTS
Christ is the only standard in everything. Outside His teachings leads to loss. Parents must learn to meet God’s standards and apply for victory. The message is about Dad’s Godly ways in the Family.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father forgive us our sins and forgetfulness of our purpose as Your Children. Help us learn Your will tas we give honor to the Fathers their responsibility to lead a wholesome and joyous family with the fear of God. Let the Holy Spirit lead us, as I deliver the message may it not contradict Your holy writ. We believe in Your written Word as our guide and source of Truth. Keep us awake. We worship You in Spirit and in Truth. Thank You for Your help in Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
FATHER AND CHURCH
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, EPH 5:25
OVERSEER
An overseer, then, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, prudent, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, 3 not addicted to wine or pugnacious (confrontational), but gentle, peaceable, free from the love of money. 4 He must be one who manages his own household well, keeping his children under control with all dignity 5 (but if a man does not know how to manage his own household, how will he take care of the church of God?), 1TIM 3:2-5
FATHERS A MEN OF GOD
Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. 1COR 16:13
^^^ FATHERS RESPONSIBILITY AND DIGNITY
Fathers compassionate role in the family and every child’s life cannot be filled by others.
^^^ Anyone can father a child, but being a dad takes a lifetime.
^^^This role of Father have a large impact on (family) and children it shapes them into the person they become.
COMPASSION
Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him. PSALM 103:13
FATHERS AND EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT
^^^ Fathers, like mothers, are pillars in the development of a child’s emotional well-being.
Mother and Children look to their fathers to lay down the rules and enforce them. (in the family)
^^^ They (family and children) also look to their fathers to provide a feeling of security, both physical and emotional.
^^^ Children want to make their fathers proud, and an involved father promotes inner growth and strength.
^^^Studies have shown that when fathers are affectionate and supportive, it greatly affects a child’s cognitive and social development. It also instills an overall sense of well-being and self-confidence.
DO NOT PROVOKE
Fathers, do not exasperate (provoke) your children, so that they will not lose heart (discouraged). COL 3:21
FATHERS SET THE BAR FOR RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS
The patterns a father sets in the relationships with his wife and children will dictate how they relate with other people.
^^^ Fathers not only influence who we are inside, but how we have relationships with people as we grow.
^^^ The way a father treats his child will influence what he or she looks for in other people.
^^^ Friends, lovers, and spouses will all be chosen based on how the child perceived the meaning of the relationship with his or her father.
WE WILL SERVE THE LORD
If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve… but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” JOSHUA 24:15
FATHERS TO MOM
Mothers depend on the fathers for sincere honest, dedication to family and respect to wife’s role in the family and decision making.
^^^ Be in one decision with the wife for the good of the family. Total security established in Godly principles and conduct. Relationship molded in Prayers.
ONE FLESH
For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. EPH 5:31 ^^^This mystery is great; but I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church. 33 Nevertheless, each individual among you also is to love his own wife even as himself, and the wife must see to it that she [r]respects her husband. (32-33)
FATHERS AND THEIR DAUGHTERS
Young girls depend on their fathers for security and emotional support.
^^^ A father shows his daughter what a good relationship with a man is like.
^^^ If a father is loving and gentle, his daughter will look for those qualities in men when she’s old enough to date.
^^^ If a father is strong and valiant, she will relate closely to men of the same character.
INTEGRITY
He who walks in integrity walks securely, But he who perverts his ways will be found out. PROV 10:9
FATHERS AND THEIR SONS
^^^ Unlike girls, who model their relationships with others based on their father’s character, boys model themselves after their father’s character.
^^^ Boys will seek approval from their fathers from a very young age.
^^^ As human beings, we grow up by imitating the behavior of those around us; that’s how we learn to function in the world.
If a father is caring and treats people with respect, the young boy will grow up much the same.
^^^ When a father is absent, young boys look to other male figures to set the “rules” for how to behave and survive in the world.
DIGNITY
He must be one who manages his own household well, keeping his children under control with all dignity 1TIM 3:4
AS WE CLOSE
Father’s responsibility is not easy. It can only be fulfilled with the Holy Spirit in the person. Men tried but failed. Way of God is victory. Live in Faith and Grace.
