ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURES
HIGHLIGHTS
Faith is total surrender to what we believe. Our belief in the Lord Jesus Christ death and resurrection by faith leads to Salvation. Consider it a treaty with God till the end. Drawing back leads to our loss. The good man persevere and receive rewards.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father our Glorious God. We come once again to give you our dedication and the challenges we are encountering in the Church and our life. Merciful God help us to understand Your Message. Storms may be present in our lives but we persevere because of Your Power and Love. Forgive our sins as we forgive others. We won’t exist without You. Thank You for all the blessings and Grace. Holy one of Israel we worship You in Spirit and in Truth. Teach us to apply Your teachings. All for Your Glory. In Jesus Name. Amen.
WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF PERSEVERANCE?
SHRIKING BACK TO DESTRUCTION
But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul. HEB 10:39
^^^ Experience the continuous flow of love from God in Christ. His Grace is always there to His Children. Never come to dead end with God. (Note in pulpit / ICU/well
^^^ Those who do not know God always stand at a distance with the Lord. They easily give up even the good opportunities in front of them.
^^^ Safe and pleasant walking with the Lord Jesus Christ.
^^^ For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life ROM 5:10.
BACKSLIDER
The backslider in heart will have his fill of his own ways,
But a good man will be satisfied with his. PROV 14:14
^^^ Dwell in the fact that God is on your side. You are His child, fellow heir of Gods promises in Christ.
^^^ 70% of the conversations of men revolves with worries, anxieties and unpleasant deals received from the society. ^^^ Christ will fight your hard situations for you
^^^ Do not fear them, for the Lord your God is the one fighting for you. Deut 3:22 (Lady being stoned…)
NO SHRINKING BACK
But My righteous one shall live by faith; And if he shrinks back, My soul has no pleasure in him. HEB 10:38
^^^ Christ is righteousness in itself. We come to Jesus because of the multitudes of His mercy.
^^^ People placed in a choice often choose to do it himself. Go to Jesus. (Judas choose his own, disaster)
^^^ Do not draw back for the answers of Jesus to all of the problems are with Him
^^^ Return, O my soul, to your rest; for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you. Psalm 116:7
WHAT DO WE REMIND OURSELVES TO PERSEVERE?
GOD FULFILLS HIS PROMISES
For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. PHIL 1:6
^^^ Deacon Gary and Maria will come in week or two, we prayed last Sunday for God to handle the problems in Manila. Victory. Praise the Lord.
^^^ Talk to God in Jesus. Pray till you get used to it.
^^^ Many tend to forget Jesus or not praying at all.
^^^ Prayer makes us stay with hope in the Lord Jesus
RECONCILLIATION
Namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation. 21 He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2COR 5:19, 21
^^^ Hold your head in Christ, He rewards Faithfulness.
^^^ Remain faithful in Christ during adversity
^^^ Stephen remained with God, tied, crowed stoned him till he died. Asking God to forgive his enemies.
^^^ God in Christ has done many things for our salvation.
JESUS SUFFERED FOR YOU
Surely our griefs He Himself bore, And our sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken Smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed. ISA 53:4-5
^^^ Being made righteous to the Lord by Jesus Christ without our merit is His love for us.
^^^ God in Christ did His part to give us a new beginning.
LIFE IN SPIRIT
For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, 4 so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. ROM 8:3-4
^^^ We cannot prevent our calling. It is forced issue. Jesus died, shed His Blood for our sins.
^^^ Problem is we do not let go of the past and let Jesus.
^^^ You have new opportunities in Jesus, life in Grace, life in faith, life filled with victories in Christ. Cling to Jesus.
WHAT REWARDS DO WE GET FOR PERSEVERING?
LOVE OF GOD
And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance;
4 and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; 5 and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. ROM 5:3-5
^^^ God use challenges to stretch your reliance in Him.
^^^ When confronted by reality of pain, sufferings, nagging problems. Seek Jesus and His goodness. Ease the pain. ^^^ God will honor and see you through difficulties.
BLESSING NEW EVERY MORNING
The Lord’s loving kindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail.23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. LAM 3:22-23
^^^ You might have setbacks in your life today
^^^ People might have treated you badly
^^^ Keep dwelling in God, be faithful during adversary
GOD DOES NOT FORGET
For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, in having ministered and in still ministering to the [a]saints.
HEB 6:10
^^^ He will sustain you ^^^ His peace is inside you now
^^^ Let go of any shattered dreams ^^^ Keep believing and loving Jesus ^^^ Receive Jesus mercy and forgiveness today and move forward victorious with Him.
AS WE CLOSE
Life in God is great joy. Christ hanged on the Cross for it. Our Hell is gone, we are resurrected with Jesus. He is challenging us not to quit but continue with our journey in Christ. God does not forget. His Grace is infinite, accept it and live peaceful by His Spirit. Persevere with Jesus.
