THE HOLY CALLING
GOD’S HOLY CALLING ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURES
HIGHLIGHTS “If I kneel before God I can stand before any man.” Old saying and one big step to Holiness coupled with remaining polite, well groomed, and not purposely pick fights. But in the end we are instructed by the Lord to be freed of all the fearful trepidation of what others think.
WITH FAITH PRAYER
Heavenly Father Blessed and Holy. We come for learning and blessing. Heal our heart with Your Word. Give us the enlightenment we need, the Light against darkness that blinds us. We worship You Father. Holy Spirit teach and guide us. Thank You for the Cross and the Resurrection. In Jesus Name. Amen.
HOW ARE WE TAUGHT TO BE HOLY IN THE BIBLE?
^^^ Israel is God's chosen nation and God has set them apart from all other people groups. (Deut 7:7)
^^^ They are His special people, and consequently they were given standards that God wanted them to live by so the world would know they belonged to Him.
BE HOLY
But like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all yourbehavior; 16 because it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” 1PETER 1:15-16 (LEV 19:2)
^^^ When Peter repeats the Lord's words in 1 Peter 1:16, he was talking to Jews or Gentile believers.
^^^ As believers, we need to be "set apart" from the world unto the Lord. We need to be living by God's standards, not the world's. (Rom 12:2)
^^^ God isn't calling us to be perfect, but to be distinct from the world. (Gal 2:20)
We need to be holy because God wants to use us.
TO BE VESSEL USED BY GOD
Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work. 2TIM 2:21
^^^ God cleanses to be a vessel of honor, sanctified, useful for the Masters use.
WHAT IS OUR BIGGEST HINDRANCE IN ATTAINING THE VESSEL OF HONOR?
^^^ But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy… 2Tim 3:1-2
^^^ These are works of those without fear of God.
^^^ Believers have these in their heart in pursuit of holiness.
FEAR OF GOD
Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. 2COR 7:1
*** Open yourselves to cleansing and perfecting holiness believing in Faith. Christ is confirmed in you. Your total acceptance of Christ. Rom 10:9
CONFIRMED IN YOU
That in everything you were enriched in Him, in all speech and all knowledge, 6 even as the testimony concerning Christ was confirmed in you 1COR 1:5-6
*** If you are in doubt God will enriched you in speech and knowledge. *** Paul was told by God, “My grace is sufficient for you for may grace is made perfect in weaknesses.” 2Cor 12:9
*** God did not mean for us not to mingle with the world and be polluted by the world. We are to witness to the world. “Weep with those who weep, rejoice with those who rejoices.” Love everyone but not get contaminated.”
HOLY AND ACCEPTABLE
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. ROM 12:1
GOD’S FAITHFULNESS (HIS PROMISE)
So that he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints. 1THES 3:13
HOLINESS TO SEE THE LORD
Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. HEB 12:14
IN CLOSING
Holiness makes human vessels able to serve God. Fear of God gives perfection of holiness. We are established by God in holiness. We see the Lord in Holiness.
BLESSINGS
JESUS BLESS YOU
LIVE IN THE FAITH OF CHRIST
WORHIP HIM
AMEN
